Almira’s private beta

Almira stores personal information to look after your family’s documents. This is a plain-English summary of the beta privacy notice shown in the app before sign-up. That notice is a draft awaiting legal review.

What Almira keeps

Your account details, family names and relationships, dates you enter, original documents, and details read from those documents. It also keeps reminders, Activity and security records.

These help Almira file papers, find details, send reminders and let you share when you choose. Your data is not sold or used for advertising.

Who can see your papers

Inside Almira, you and linked family members can see only the shelves or documents you allow. AI services process information as described below.

Sharing by WhatsApp or email sends the original file, including any full ID numbers inside it. You confirm each share. ID documents also need your PIN.

Someone who receives a file can keep or forward it. Almira cannot call back a copy that has left the app.

How AI services help

Anthropic reads document pages. If it declines to read a document, those pages are sent to OpenAI instead. You agree to this processing when you sign up.

For search, Almira replaces identity numbers, phone numbers and family names in confirmed page text with placeholders before sending that text to OpenAI.

When you ask a question, Anthropic receives your question with identity numbers masked, and the masked facts needed to answer it. Sending a document still needs your confirmation.

Anthropic’s commercial terms prohibit training on customer content. OpenAI does not train on business API content by default, unless the customer opts in. Almira uses these business services under their no-training terms.

OpenAI’s default abuse-monitoring logs may retain content for up to 30 days, or longer where required by law or needed to protect the service. These services may process information outside India.

Read the Anthropic commercial terms and OpenAI data controls. Checked on 16 October 2026.

Storage and everyday privacy

Your files are stored encrypted on servers in India. ID numbers are encrypted separately and masked on screen. A PIN reveals a full number for 30 seconds, and the reveal is recorded.

App lock uses a PIN. The offline copy on your phone is encrypted. File names are hidden in the app. Phone notifications do not show document details.

Activity records sharing, downloads and full-number reveals. Separate security records include logins, PIN attempts and document views, with the time and network address, for 90 days.

Download, correct or delete

You can correct details in the app. In Settings, “Download everything” gives you original files and stored details, including full ID numbers. The download is available once, for 15 minutes.

You can request account deletion at any time. It is scheduled seven days ahead so you can change your mind. A deleted document stays in Trash for 30 days.

Documents and their details stay until deleted. Activity stays while your account exists. The beta privacy notice does not yet specify a fixed backup-removal period.

Your questions and choices

To ask about your data or withdraw consent for AI reading, email support@musingbyte.com. Without AI reading, Almira can keep your files but cannot read them for you.

The privacy notice in the app gives the full beta details before you sign up.
